To kickoff the Summit, the Brechner Center for Freedom of Information hosted an opening reception for guests.

During the 30th anniversary celebration, the Brechner Center inducted six honorees as the second class to the Florida Freedom of Information Hall of Fame.
Florida Attorney General Bill McCollum joined the festivities during the celebration luncheon addressing the importance of open government.
As part of its Florida FOI Summit scholarship, The Brechner Center named the top 30 stories published in Florida over the past 30 years that used FOI in the reporting process.
